Meet side hustle strategist Holly Haynes…
Holly is crazy passionate about teaching women how to build a side hustle (insert job of their dreams) without sacrificing weekends and their priorities! She believes strongly that you can create a routine you love and with the right tools create a lifestyle that works without burnout! You can usually find her chatting biz strategy on my podcast “Crush the Rush” and all things wellness (gotta keep that energy up).
She started her first coaching business in network marketing when her twins were 18 months old while working full time. She was excited to start something she was passionate about but overwhelmed with how to make progress in small pockets of time. The traditional methods of working 3-4 hours a day in blocks of time didn’t work because she quite frankly didn’t that kind of time. So she created a system and strategy that works and used that to build her strategic coaching business that exists today!
You can listen to my conversation with Holly Haynes at the link above. Or get an overview below.
What do you do in your business and why did you choose it?
I help female entrepreneurs take back control of their time with proven systems and structure to create a strategy that works.I started my first coaching business in network marketing when my twins were 18 months old while working full time. I was excited to start something I was passionate about but overwhelmed with how to make progress in small pockets of time. The traditional methods of working 3-4 hours a day in blocks of time didn’t work for me because I quite frankly didn’t have it. So I created a system and strategy that works and used that to build my strategic coaching business that exists today!
Additionally, I have a 20 year corporate strategy career (a masters in business strategy). I work full time for a non-profit. And most days can be found sharing my experiences as a working mom as well as strategy to build a business while working full time. My mission is to share how you can put together a side-hustle strategy and plan that works for you, without giving up your goals and still focusing on your priorities!
What is your greatest strength when it comes to running your business?
Prioritization and making strategy easier to understand. I do think you can do all the things, just the prioritized and most important ones.
What is the area of entrepreneurship where you could grow the most?
Probably Press and PR. I know the least about this.
If you were to start your business over today, what piece of advice or lesson learned would you emphasize to yourself?
Honestly, it would be to hire a coach earlier. I waited until I was almost 5 years in. While I am super dedicated and follow through on all the courses I took and invested in, coaching just takes it to levels I never imagined.
What is your best advice for balancing business and home life or creating intentional family time?
If you don’t block it out, it probably won’t happen. Make it happen! You can be in charge of your schedule. So many people avoid “timeblocking” because they think it is too structured, but I even block unstructured time.
